FAQ: Vacation With A Spray Tan

Will swimming affect my spray tan?

Swimming in chlorinated water or salt water will fade your tan and could cause possible streaking. When swimming try to only go for short dips and rinse off in fresh water afterwards. ALWAYS pat dry with a towel. Don't forget to re-apply sunscreen after a swim!

When should I schedule my beauty services?

You want to get almost all beauty services done at least 1 day in advance of your spray tan.

Waxing - at least 48 hours before

Nails/Hair/Facial/Massage - 24 hours before

Spray tan prep shower (at least 4 hours before your appointment to allow your skin's pH balance to normalize)! Reminder - exfoliate, no lotion or deodorant applied after.

Lashes - After your tan is set! Our solution is water based, so if you get your lashes done and then spray tan the solution can cause premature fall out for your lashes. If you schedule lashes before your spray tan, make sure to do so 24-48 hours before your spray appointment.

Can I go in a hot tub with my spray tan?

You must avoid hot tubs. They will strip a spray tan. Spray tans fade because of dead skin cells being carried or sloughed away. Hot tubs are very good at this.

YES, YES, YES, AND YES A spray tan does not protect the skin from UV rays from the sun.

Do I need to wear sunscreen after receiving a spray tan?

Highly waterproof sunscreen will help your tan last longer while also protecting your skin!

Always check the bottle for the words "oil-free" and "alcohol-free" and always choose an SPF high enough for your skin type. Stay away from the aerosol or spray-on sunblock because they don’t go on evenly, and contain alcohol that can dry your tan out making it fade unevenly.

Always check the expiration date on any SPF products you have at home!
